I'm a mum and Carer for 5 children, 3 of whom have special needs and 1 being investigated for possible Autism, My 11 year old daughter Kiara has High functioning autism/ADHD and major anxiety and mood disorder.
My 8 year old son Elijah has High functioning Autism/ADHD and optical albinism, My 7 year old daughter Isabella has developmental co-ordination delay, I have a neurotypical, 5 year old daughter Aislinn in prep ,and a 2 year old son kellin being investigated for ASD /aspergers symptoms.
( Wow that's a whole lot to swallow at once)
Im married to my wonderful supportive husband Simon, Simon is the biological father of Aislinn( 5) and kellin ( 2) , Kiara ( 11) Elijah ( 8) and Isabella ( 7) are children to my deceased husband Robert who sadly passed away in September 2004 after a short battle with Cancer  2 months before Isabella was welcomed into the world.  I home school Kiara and Elijah due to their struggles with Autism Through Australian Christian college ( ACC)  and my other 2 girls Bella and Aislinn attend mainstream school on campus at ACC.
This blog is mainly about my family and our life, the  road with special needs, about sharing our life experiences and strategies and practices/therapies in place and our learning curve with placing pieces of the puzzle together to solve the mystery's of Autism.
Autism is a roller-coaster ride, it has its ups and downs emotionally and physically.
Some days as a parent or carer of a child with special needs the roller-coaster seems never ending and unstoppable and by sharing  information and having supporters experiencing  similar situations it brings a little light and normality at the end of the dark tunnel. I have been thrown alot in life and feel there is alot more to come, my experience's have taught me that life is to short and what doesn't break you makes you a stronger, loving and more educated person.  xx
